Prasetiya Mulya SCHOLARSHIP

alhamdulillah , i was chosen to be the finalist of SCHOLARSHIP PRASETIYA MULYA 2010.

there was 4 steps that i had to pass for becoming a finalist:

The first was administration selection.

i had to submit my score sheets , curriculum vitae , experiences and achievements and some essays. From over than 1300 through all over Indonesian students who submitted it , there was only about 170 people that could passed it.

The second was written test that was held in April. It was English test , Math Test and Psikotest .

That was an endurance test too , because we had to do many tests in a limit time. It tested our brain and endurance. Some students was like giving up. There , in the Psikotest , we had to draw many things and there was also a Kraepelin Test where we had to sum the numbers in line , in a very big paper.

From this written test , there was only 34 students that passed to the third step of the selection.

The third step was Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and interview.

Here , we was mixed into a group with people that we didn't know before , and we had to make a formal discussion , find a solution about a problem that given from the juries. Then , 2 students from the group had to make a presentation to tell what the solution and the reasons was.

After the discussion, we was called one by one to had interviewed with 6 or 7 juries. There was various questions that asked. But the main was asking our personality, our achievements, our family and our motivation to join this Scholarship competition.

There was 28 students passed to the fourth step of the selection, presentation and the audition.

Here , we had to make a presentation, based on the essay and the paper we've made in the first step of the selection. It was about business or about the contribution of the young generation for the environment . I was making the business one.

We had only 5 minutes to deliver our ideas of the presentation , then we had some questions from the juries based on our presentation. FYI , in this step of the selection , there was more than 20 juries . What a number.

Then , after the juries satisfied of our presentation and our answers , they asked us again about our personality, our family, our motivation and else like when we were in the third step. But here , the question was more complex and wider . More we could make the juries curious , more questions that the juries would asked . So the duration of the audition was different from each student. Approximately the duration was an hour . But i had the longest duration then the other contestants , i was interviewed for an and half hours ! I didn't feel it , because i liked being asked , moreover if it was about myself . 'coz i wanted the juries to know me more and make no wrong perceptions about me :)

Then, the last step of the selection process was done. it was the time to wait the announcement , who are the 12 finalists of the Scholarship Prasetiya Mulya Business School.

I was pessimistic all the times, even though i had passed until the last step of the selection, i still hard to believe that i could made myself this far.

That time i was in the common vehicle with my friends. And there was about 5 missed call on my phone. When i saw the numbers, it was similar numbers. Then i made deduction that it was an office number. my friend said "maybe it's from Prasetiya Mulya?" then i said "No way" but my heart was beating faster.

then my phone rang again . i picked it

"Halo ?"

"is this Adalea?"

"Yes?"

"oh i'm from Prasetiya Mulya. You must haven't been seen the announcement yet, have you?"

"yes i haven't. why is that?"

"congratulation,  you've been chosen to be a finalist of Scholarship Prasetiya Mulya Business School"

and my reaction was like

"AAAAHH OH MY GOD! SERIOUSLY?"

and there, my friends was staring at me curiously , sharply and ready to 'rawr' me.

the woman in the phone was giggling while i was shocked.

"yes, true . congratulation"

aaahhh i couldnt hold on my tears. i was crying in the common vehicles. luckily, there was only me and my friends in that vehicles. ;p

when i got home i was quite and told nobody. until my father and mother was near me, i opened the website that put my name on it. "FINALISTS SCHOLARSHIP PRASETIYA MULYA - METRO TV"

my parents hugged me and i was crying (again) and felt a little bit embarrassed.
